Jaime Valero
Jaime Valero is born in Madrid, Spain, on January 16th, 1967. He will soon show his skills and interest for drawing and painting and will guide his studies to Fine Art School at Complutense University in Madrid in 1985.
He lived in US (2001-2003), and there he started investigating the possibilities of large-scale portraits and nudes in water and, ever since, he has dedicated most of his work to open new doors and ways related to this universe that finally has become his most personal and particular obsession.
While researching on his favorite subject he has learnt to combine the technique he studied from the old masters (Velazquez, Rembrandt, Leonardo), with the fascinating universes of contemporary creators (Bill Viola, Jenny Saville, Gotfreid Helnwein), and his curiosity keeps him constantly looking for new possibilities on both fields, technique and concept.
He just finished an Exhibition Tour through three different cities (Hangzhou, Beijing and Madrid), in China and Spain od a collective show with the best figurative painters of both countries, including Antonio López and the great Chinese Masters. And is currently working on a solo show in his home town, Madrid, on the Spring of 2026.
