The associations with children’s illustration contrast with the bold sensuality and according to Tadeusz Nyczek put it-psychoanalytic contexts straight from Margitte or Delvaux. Other critics see in Pello’s work connotations with the literature of Zola or the works of Balthus, Egon Schiele, or Edgar Degas. Although the inspirations are numerous, there is no doubt that the artist has created her own distinctive style.

I believe my paintings don’t need volumes of footnotes .They sometimes have a hidden story, sometimes not, but the starting point is always light, color, form and delight – even if only in this what light can bring out of seemingly ordinary things. When the sun emerges from behind the clouds, something that was gray, fragile, and inconspicuous a moment ago suddenly begins to glow with an inner radiance, becomes fascinating, and begins to cast shadows that create additional color. That never ceases to inspire me .
