Description
Tomás Carlos Ortolani
Tomás Carlos Ortolani is an Argentine artist, born in Mar del Plata in 1992. His affinity with the arts began, as with many artists, at an early age. Despite his relatively short career, his work is already held in private collections in Argentina, as well as in London, Spain, and Canada.
In his painting practice, he has developed a body of work with a realistic approach, occasionally infused with surrealist elements. His themes often explore the connections we maintain with others and how these relationships are shaped by our upbringing and childhood environments – ultimately defining not only who we are but also how we perceive others.
For Tomás, painting is not merely a profession, but a way of life; and art, the subjective lens through which we choose to see the world.
Nostalgia II
This work is deeply personal. A small painting that, at times, appears unfinished – like a blurred memory. It is the result of a reunion that carried a heavy sense of nostalgia, rooted in a bond that once existed in the past. With the gesture of a sketchy brushstroke, I tried to capture the warmth of a fleeting moment of complicity, wishing it could last longer than I know it will.
