Description

Salony Garg

Salony Garg (b. 1992) is a contemporary Indian painter whose work explores themes of identity, belonging, and human connection. Initially working as a cartoonist and graphic designer, she was inspired to pursue fine art professionally after painting with friends. In 2019, she began formal training at the Samsara Academy of Art and later graduated from the Barcelona Academy of Art.

She was recently awarded the Gold Prize from the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation (2025), First Prize in Still Life from Terra Verna Gallery (California), and the Bold Brush Award (2024). Her paintings have been exhibited at esteemed venues such as the Salmagundi Club in New York and the Oxo Gallery, London (Derwent Art Prize). Two of her works, “Power of Self-Acceptance” and “Anandee,” have been selected for the Lunar Codex project, which sends art to the moon.

Drawing from tradition and nature, she creates intimate, contemplative spaces through expressive portraits and serene landscapes. Influenced by Monet, Sorolla, and Degas, her sculptural painting process evolves from abstraction to form. With a focus on texture and composition, she crafts visual sanctuaries that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with universal emotions of nostalgia, love, and cultural memory.
