Born in Mexico City on November 28, 1966, Rubén Contreras González is a self-taught artist whose passion for art was deeply influenced by his mother, also a painter. Since 1985, his work has been exhibited across Mexico, the United States, Italy, and Spain, earning both national and international recognition.

Focusing on the human figure, landscapes, and objects of personal significance, Rubén works primarily in oil. His artistry has garnered multiple accolades, including being a four-time finalist in the Modportrait contest, two-time finalist in the International FiKVA Award, Honorable Mention in MiniARTures by FiKVA, and a finalist in the Art Renewal Center competition.
