Lauren Van Middelem
Lauren Van Middelem is an art historian and archaeologist by training, she has been running an art gallery on the seaside promenade in the cosmopolitan town of Knokke since the age of 23. The gallery focuses on emerging contemporary artists and serves as a platform for various disciplines, fostering interaction between different art forms. She is also open to future involvement with the secondary art market.
Lauren wrote her thesis on the hybridization of the classical model and contemporary expression in the works of artists such as Koen Deprez, Koen Vanmechelen, Rinus Van de Velde, and Wim Delvoye. This background reflects her deep interest in the cross-pollination between tradition and innovation.
